Introduction

This is an introduction of our group and our first ideas about our main task of creating the opening scene. There are 3 members of the group:
Agata Komisarczyk
Ghislaine Tinn
Paula Motloung

We are very excited about this task and we would like to eventually create a thriller for the opening scene. We will be using this blog to help us prepare for the task and we will also use it as a guide and a track record to keep to present all our research and progress.
We will be adding pictures such of the cast, scenery and etc. Our webliographies and information and comment on how we are getting on with the process of producing our opening scene.

Prelim Task Videos

These are our Prelim Task videos. We did not work as a all work together during the making of these videos, so we have added both to show our different ideas.

What is an Opening Sequence?

An opening sequence is the first few minutes of a film or t.v programme. They will usually establish the narrative in brief while drawing the viewer into the story. It also shows the characters personalities and introduces them to the scenario and genre of the sequence.
In the opening sequence, the story must intrugue the viewer and make them want to see more however, to do this it must not reveal too much information as this might spoil the plot.

Inspirations

As the film sequence of "Trapped" was not our original idea, our inspirations from other films where quite different. The original idea for our opening sequence was called "Intrusion", a story of an unknown species invading the Earth radidly. The inspirations for that were:
Invasion (2007) - It inspired us as it too was a film about the world being invaded by an alien species where the protaginist and star was Australian actress, Nicole Kidman.
Vantage Point (2008) - This movie inspired us as it was a film which began from the middle and continued to rewind and unravell the story, which was what we had planned to do too.

Target Audience

Our target audience would include anybody in general with films of the thriller genre. This is because it contains features that would keep the audience in suspense throughout the opening sequence. However it would be most suitable for audiences of 15 and above as we have included an age restriction due to the slightly gruesome imagery at the end of the opening sequence.

TRAPPED - Synopsis

Charlie, Nicole and Katie are three ordinary girls.
What they are unaware of is that one night will change their lives.
Charlie's sudden disappearance is shocking and confusing, is there a way that she can be found before it's too late?
Nicole and Katie must race against time to figure out the clues left behind, but is it really possible without any assistance?
